Amy's collegiate career included a major in advertising with a minor in history. After college, Amy worked for several years for youth programs and for a title insurance company. It was at that time that Amy went back to school and received a Paralegal Certificate. Amy entered the legal arena as a paralegal for several years before deciding to attend law school. She attended law school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she received five book awards including one in Creditor Rights and Debtor Remedies. While in law school Amy was a member of the Law Review and was Notes and Comments Editor during her third year. Upon graduation, she received her Juris Doctorate degree with honors from Nova University - Shepard Broad School of Law in 1991.

Since graduation, her career has concentrated in pursuing creditor remedies in both the consumer and commercial arenas. Amy practiced in South Florida and frequently attended hearings in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Amy was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1991 allowing her to practice before all Florida Courts. She was admitted to the Trial Bar for the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1994. After fourteen years of practice, Amy relocated to the greater Tampa Bay area to be closer to the family. Amy joined Marcadis Law Firm in 2005. She is an avid scrapbooker and spends much of her free time making personalized handcrafted cards. Amy has expanded that passion by her involvement with Joshua House (a facility for abused and neglected children) both as a committee member of a scrapbooking based fundraiser and in any other way the facility needs help.
